This notice covers the Babaru website, purchases, email updates and support. Office Clothing Limited, a Hong Kong company (company registration number 3253931), provides the website and direct-sale services under our Terms of Use. Contact us at babaru@babaru.ai about your information.

Babaru is intended for children ages 8 and up, with parent-led setup and supervision. Product conversations need their own explanation: see Voice & conversations before connecting a toy or companion app.

2. Information we collect

Orders and payments

Checkout collects the information needed to process your order, including your contact details, delivery address, billing details where required, the products ordered and payment status. Payment details are entered through Stripe's payment interface. We use order records to fulfil purchases, provide support and handle refunds.

Email updates

If you sign up for animated-series updates, we receive your email address and the signup category so we can send the updates you requested. You can unsubscribe from these emails or contact us to stop receiving them.

Support enquiries

When you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include. For order questions, your order number helps us find the purchase. Please do not send passwords, full payment-card details or a child's private conversations.

Website and payment security

Our hosting and payment providers may process technical information, such as network, browser and transaction information, to deliver the website and protect payments. See Cookies for the storage and third-party services used on this site.

3. Children's privacy

Purchases, email signups and support requests should be handled by a parent or other adult. A parent or guardian should set up and supervise the toy experience. We do not knowingly collect more information from a child than is reasonably necessary to provide the Service.

If you believe a child has sent us personal information without appropriate permission, contact babaru@babaru.ai so we can review it. This website notice does not establish how parental permission or controls operate in a companion app.

4. Voice & conversations

This website does not collect toy conversation audio through its shopping, email-signup or support forms. That does not establish what a connected toy or companion app processes.

A verified product-specific notice covering audio processing, transcripts, temporary context, saved memory, provider access and training use is not yet available here. Do not assume that conversations stay on your phone or that no one else can access them. Request these details from our team before enabling product conversations.

5. How we use information

We use purchase and contact information to provide the services you request, fulfil orders, communicate about purchases, respond to support enquiries, handle returns and protect the website against misuse. We use signup information to send the email updates you choose to receive.

Where a legal basis is required, these uses rely on performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interest in customer support and security, legal obligations, or your consent for optional communications as applicable. You can withdraw consent for email updates without affecting your order or support rights.

6. Service providers

Stripe provides the checkout and payment services. Mailchimp provides email signup and delivery services. Hosting, database, delivery and support providers may process the information needed to carry out their functions for us. These providers are only permitted to use information as needed to perform their services for us, subject to their applicable legal responsibilities.

7. Cookies & analytics

The storefront does not currently load optional analytics or advertising trackers. Checkout uses Stripe's payment and fraud-prevention services, which may use cookies and similar technologies. See Cookies for details and browser controls.

If we introduce non-essential tracking, we will explain it and obtain consent where required before enabling it.

8. How long we keep data

We keep order, payment and support records for the purposes described above and for applicable tax, accounting, dispute and other legal requirements. Email signup information is used while you remain subscribed; a record of an unsubscribe request may be kept to respect that choice.

You can ask us to delete your information. We will explain the records involved, any information we must retain and the timeframe that applies to your request. We do not publish a fixed deletion deadline for product conversation data without the product-specific notice.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we collect. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your family's information.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of information we hold about your family, and to object to or withdraw consent for certain processing. Parents can exercise these rights, or request a review or deletion of their child's information, at any time using the contact details in Section 13. If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

11. International transfers

Order, signup and contact information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including Hong Kong and the countries where our service providers operate. Where the law requires a transfer safeguard, we will use an applicable lawful mechanism. Contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your information.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update this policy and, where appropriate, notify parents directly.
